ARTANKARA International Contemporary Art Fair, which is set to be held with a view to accelerate art environment and art market of Turkey and neighboring countries so that contemporary art to be watched and widely known, has completed its third year. The fair is being organized on behalf of Atis Fairs Company; the first edition of ARTANKARA took place in 2015.
On Wednesday, 15th of March ARTANKARA after preview and private cocktail ARTANKARA which gathered artists with politicians, foreign missions, academicians with the business World has opened its doors for the third time at ATO Congresium.
At ARTANKARA which is used to be visited by art-lovers of different ages from the very beginning more than two thousand art-works from twenty countries could be seen on the area of 10 thousand sqm.
During the fair art and industry have met within the sub-theme of the fair “Art Goes to Work» created by artist Ertugrul Ates. Within the framework of this concept three expositions, set out with believe of persuasion that gathering the business world with artist will affect deeply and positively the life quality, have attracted attention. At the booth of companies like ASAS and Farplas art-works made by aluminum and waste materials have been exposed, while ’’Getting Undressed’’ Project inspired from a scene at the dressing room of the miners at the mine field has been the most visited booth of the fair.
During ARTANKARA among the exposed art-works of more than 600 artists famous Works of art of Mustafa Ayaz, Kayhan Keskinok, Fikret Otyam, Adnan Turani, Bubi, Devrim Erbil as well as Works of young artists could be seen. Moreover 4 different social responsibility projects for kids have taken place. Within this context, exhibiting artists have painted for scholarship students of Turkish Educational Association; on the other hand kids could paint together with artists within another project. ARTANKARA, which became a platform for gathering artists and for making contribution in exchanging their ideas, was a ”meeting point” for art-lovers during 4 days.
